With the introduction of daybed covers which are similar to a bedskirt but fitted to mattress, what once was a piece of furniture that was hidden away in a spare room covered with last year`s Christmas wrapping paper has become the focal point of many rooms.
The beds in design tend to be lower profile which makes the space look bigger and more open. There are so many options when looking for the right modern bed. You can choose from many woods to metal. Newer designs also come in white which gives your room a very airy and open feel.
With sleek lines and endless designs you cant go wrong with choosing a Modern daybed. It will add sophistication to your room and years of enjoyment. The good thing is too, if you get tired you can always change the bedding but the bed will never go out of style. So choose a contemporary or modern bed for something a little different then the everyday bed.
A daybed frame is quite different from that of a standard bed. Daybed frames usually are comprised of two arms and a back, imitating the basic structure of a sofa. There are two common types of frames; the link spring, and the platform. The link spring frame is a metal grid that acts as a box spring, and is attached to the frame to support the mattress. There is usually a gap between the frame and mattress to allow for bedding and making the bed. As for the Platform-style frame, the mattress is supported by either a Bunkie board or a slat rack. A Bunkie board, resembling a box spring without the coil work but thinner, fits inside the frame and is designed to support the mattress evenly.
