Sleep experts say in general, the average person usually needs a bed with a height of 25 inches (including bed frame and mattress). However, this could differ with each individual, dependent on their height or age
Note: When buying a wooden bed frame, it’s always best to choose a “Solid” timber frame as opposed to the much cheaper “Veneer” options you may see. Most often, cheaper alternatives, especially the famous Swedish brand, will use veneer to keep costs down. This might seem attractive in the short term but the veneer is susceptible to peeling and any moisture damage will quickly be evident and flare up.
Even More Choice. If your looking for a bed to match your exact colour needs, to perhaps go with that flowery neon wallpaper you put up the other weekend (or maybe your questioning it now?), then you can always opt for an “untreated” finished timber bed. Somewhat more for the hands on approach of course, but by painting it yourself, the colours are endless to what can be achieved. We also offer a vast array of stylish Platform Bed frames and elegant Four Poster Beds. Have you ever considered a glow in the dark bed?
Bed height. Bed height should correlate with your height and adjust accordingly if you’re fairly short or tall. Most mattresses are 16 to 24 inches from the floor, to judge which end of the spectrum your bed should be, sit at the edge of the bed. If your feet are flat against the floor and your knees are in a straight line with the hips, your bed is the right height. If your knees are above the hips, the bed is too low and if your feet can’t reach the floor comfortably, the bed is too high.
